Crustys West Coast Carnage

Never been to a Crustys show before so this year i thought i'd fork out the cash and take a look. What an awesome show it was! Local rider Billy Hepi was bustin out some sweet moves and could really kick it with the crusty boys. Pitty to see Mad Mike announce his retirement but at the age of 41 you cant really blame him, he sounded pretty puffed after the first session. They had a dance off with a few young kids they then surprised the winner with a brand new 50 mini bike and then Mad Mike took him for a spin through the arena with the crowd goin nutts. Sure that will be a night hell never forget.

Highlight of the night was defiantly the 2nd expression session with bikes going though the air everywhere. Im a sucker for a good whip and Steve Mini was crackin them with awesome style, even with all the awesome back flip variations Steves whips were simply amazing.

Went to the Lancelin dunes with Beno and Amanda on the weekend and had a blast. We scoped out a section of dunes on the quad first and then went out on 2 wheels. This is the most fun ive had since motocross before i broke my back. The dunes were awesome and it wasnt too hard to stay on the bike at all even in the soft sand. Was hittin the dune in the photo in 4th gear smile.gif We rode for nearly 2 days straight, feeling so comfortable on the YZ now, almost feels like i never stopped riding.

Beno finally got him self a new bike, he rushed out and picked up a 2004 KX250 the day before we went to Lancelin. What a beast, the 250 just sails up the dunes without a hint of stress unlike the screemin 125. Was awesome seeing him on the 250 nailin some sweet dune roosts and jumpin big on the front dune. Could almost see the smile under his helmet as the 250 shredded up the dunes.

Below is some recent footage of me on the YZ, i now have a stick rigged up to the gear shifter so i can at least change gears but it sux havin to take my hand off the bars to change gears though... Still waiting for my air shifter.
